Before and After

This kitchen had a lot of character to work with, including cathedral ceilings, shelving areas above the sink and beautiful wood cabinets. However, it lacked symmetry and polish.

To bring out the life in the kitchen, we opted to paint the backsplash above the sink and stove,and the shelving area above in a beautiful warm shade of red. The protuding shelf and remaining walls in the kitchen were painted "peanut butter" to keep in character with the two young children in the home, and to complete the transformation.

The dining area was rather lifeless, although the dining set was beautiful. Again, there was a lot of character in the home with high ceilings and loads of windows. |
We finished the walls in "peanut butter" and reupholstered the dining set seat cushions in a plaid fabric to tie all the colors together. As a final touch, we made matching seat cushions for the children's table. |

The owner of this home was undecided on her final color scheme and tried painting her walls and fireplace area five different shades before asking Creative Design Solutions to come to the rescue. This was her final color scheme. |

To tone the room down a bit, yet keep character in the room, we painted the white tile fireplace and hearth a beautiful shade of brown, using paint with a river rock texture to keep it interesting. We painted the wall above the fireplace in a complimenting shade of sage using the same texturized paint, and added touches of red in the entertainment center to keep the connection to the kitchen (see above.) |
